Mandukya Upanishad 3 — Verse 3

जागरितस्थानो बहिष्प्रज्ञः सप्ताङ्ग एकोनविंशतिमुखः स्थूलभुग्वैश्वानरः प्रथमः पादः ॥३॥

जागरित-स्थानः । बहिः-प्रज्ञः । सप्त-अङ्गः । एकोनविंशति-मुखः । स्थूल-भुक् । वैश्वानरः । प्रथमः । पादः ॥

jāgaritasthāno bahiṣprajñaḥ saptāṅga ekonaviṃśatimukhaḥ sthūlabhug vaiśvānaraḥ prathamaḥ pādaḥ ||3||

Bahagian pertama ialah Vaiśvānara: yang berlingkup pada keadaan jaga (jāgrat), sedar akan objek-objek luaran; mempunyai tujuh anggota dan sembilan belas “mulut”; serta menikmati, mengalami objek-objek kasar.

The first quarter is Vaiśvānara: whose sphere is the waking state, who is conscious of external objects, who has seven limbs and nineteen mouths, and who enjoys (experiences) gross objects.
