अगस्त्य उवाच । विष्णुशर्मेति विख्यातः पुराभूद्ब्राह्मणोत्तमः । वेदवेदांगतत्त्वज्ञो धर्मकर्मसमाश्रितः
agastya uvāca | viṣṇuśarmeti vikhyātaḥ purābhūdbrāhmaṇottamaḥ | vedavedāṃgatattvajño dharmakarmasamāśritaḥ
Agastya berkata: Dahulu kala ada seorang brāhmaṇa yang unggul, terkenal dengan nama Viṣṇuśarman. Dia mengetahui hakikat Veda dan Vedāṅga, serta teguh berpegang pada kewajipan dharma dan amalan suci.
