श्रुत्वैतद्वचनं सोऽपि मुनिरुग्रतपास्तदा । पिता मे यो हतो देवैस्तेषां कृत्यां महाबलाम्
śrutvaitadvacanaṃ so'pi munirugratapāstadā | pitā me yo hato devaisteṣāṃ kṛtyāṃ mahābalām
Mendengar kata-kata itu, sang resi yang keras tapasnya pun bertekad: “Kerana ayahku dibunuh oleh para dewa, aku akan membangkitkan suatu kṛtyā yang maha kuat—upacara pemusnah—untuk melawan mereka.”
