दिवसस्याष्टमे भागे मन्दीभूते दिवाकरे । आसुरं तद्भवेच्छ्राद्धं पितृणां नोपतिष्ठते
divasasyāṣṭame bhāge mandībhūte divākare | āsuraṃ tadbhavecchrāddhaṃ pitṛṇāṃ nopatiṣṭhate
Jika Śrāddha dilakukan ketika hari telah sampai pada bahagian kelapan dan matahari menjadi lemah, maka Śrāddha itu menjadi bersifat ‘āsura’ dan tidak sampai kepada para Pitṛ (leluhur).
