Type: kshetra
Scene: A didactic tableau of the four yugas: Pitṛs receiving offerings in Kṛta, Devas worshipped in Tretā, Ṛṣis honored in Dvāpara, and in Kali a crowd of disputants and false ascetics obscuring dharma—set against the seashore sanctity of Prabhāsa.
The verse contrasts the clarity of dharma in earlier yugas with the confusion of Kali, urging discernment and fidelity to authentic tradition.
Within Prabhāsa Kṣetra Māhātmya, the teaching supports the value of tīrthas and orthodox rites amid Kali-yuga decline.
It indicates yuga-wise worship priorities (Pitṛs, Devas, Munis), rather than a step-by-step ritual instruction.
