Tirtha: Vārāha-kalpa (time-marker within Prabhāsa māhātmya)
Type: null
Listener: Mahādevī (Umā)
Scene: A cosmic tableau: at Pratipad of the second month, Varāha lifts the Earth from primordial waters; the narration explains why the era is called Vārāha Kalpa.
Cosmic order is restored by divine intervention; time itself is sacralized when linked to dharma-protecting acts like the Earth’s rescue.
The passage occurs within Prabhāsakṣetra-māhātmya, grounding Prabhāsa’s holiness in primordial, cosmic remembrance.
Only the tithi ‘Pratipad’ is mentioned as ‘proclaimed/celebrated’; no direct instruction (vrata, dāna, snāna) is stated in this verse.
