Tirtha: Prabhāsa-kṣetra (implied as cure)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Audience of the māhātmya; in-scene: Nārada addressing Brahmā
Scene: As strings are played, several brāhmaṇa-like figures suddenly collapse to the ground; Nārada looks alarmed, questioning Brahmā; the vīṇā and other stringed instruments vibrate visibly, suggesting a sonic shockwave.
Sacred sound is not merely art; when handled wrongly it can disturb dharma and harm the spiritually sensitive.
The narrative belongs to Prabhāsa-kṣetra’s māhātmya, leading toward the merit of worship connected with Brahmakuṇḍa and Bhairava.
No direct ritual is prescribed in this verse; it introduces the event that later requires expiation through worship at Prabhāsa.
