चन्द्रशर्मोवाच । के यूयं विकृताकारा जंतूनां च भयानकाः । पृथ्वीसमुद्भवा जीवा न दृष्टा न श्रुता मया
candraśarmovāca | ke yūyaṃ vikṛtākārā jaṃtūnāṃ ca bhayānakāḥ | pṛthvīsamudbhavā jīvā na dṛṣṭā na śrutā mayā
Candraśarman berkata: “Siapakah kamu, berwajah ganjil dan menakutkan makhluk hidup? Kamu tampak seperti makhluk yang lahir dari bumi—namun aku belum pernah melihat atau mendengar tentang kamu sebelum ini.”
