शुक्लपक्षे चतुर्द्दश्यां जागरं तस्य चाग्रतः । यः करोति निराहारः स पुत्रं लभते धुवम्
śuklapakṣe caturddaśyāṃ jāgaraṃ tasya cāgrataḥ | yaḥ karoti nirāhāraḥ sa putraṃ labhate dhuvam
Pada hari keempat belas (caturdaśī) dalam separuh bulan terang, sesiapa yang berjaga di hadapan-Nya sambil berpuasa tanpa makanan, pasti memperoleh seorang putera.
