Skanda (deduced from Nāgarakhaṇḍa tīrtha-māhātmya narration style)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A devotee supports a poisoned traveler near a tīrtha; the chanter raises a hand in protective gesture while reciting ‘Uttiṣṭha’; dark fumes representing poison dissipate into light.
Śraddhā (faith) joined to mantra-japa at a tīrtha is credited with swift alleviation of affliction.
A tīrtha described in the Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya; the verse points to that sacred locale with ‘tatra’.
Chanting a specific mantra identified by its opening word “uttiṣṭha” for counteracting poison.
