आदित्य उवाच । यानि सूक्तानि ऋग्वेदे मदीयानि द्विजोत्तम । सावनानि यजुर्वेदे सामानि च तृतीयके

āditya uvāca | yāni sūktāni ṛgvede madīyāni dvijottama | sāvanāni yajurvede sāmāni ca tṛtīyake

Āditya bersabda: “Wahai yang terbaik antara kaum dwija, himne-himne (sūkta) dalam Ṛgveda yang menjadi milikku, rumusan Sāvana dalam Yajurveda, dan nyanyian Sāman dalam Veda ketiga (Sāmaveda)—”
