Type: kshetra
Listener: a king
Scene: Devotees of varied stations—kings, householders, ascetics—keep Śivarātri vigil with lamps and chanting; above them, symbolic ‘divine’ and ‘human’ boons appear as subtle icons (lotus of liberation, granary of prosperity) emanating from the heart.
Faith (śraddhā) is emphasized as the key that makes sacred observance fruitful, granting both worldly and transcendent aims.
No specific tīrtha is named; the verse states the general fruits of the observance.
The prescription is implicit: observe Śivarātri with proper faith (samyak-śraddhā) to gain its fruits.
