Type: kshetra
Listener: Sages (frame) / audience; immediate addressee within story: Indra
Scene: Viṣṇu, serene and radiant, addresses Indra with a blessing gesture (abhaya/vara-mudrā). Visual motifs of Cāturmāsya—rain clouds, sprouting greenery, and a closed vrata-calendar—frame the scene.
Vows performed in the sacred Cāturmāsya period are especially meritorious and draw the Lord’s direct favor.
No single tīrtha is specified in this verse; it highlights the sanctity of a time-bound observance (Cāturmāsya) within the Māhātmya setting.
Performance of a Cāturmāsya-related vrata (here linked with Aśūnyaśayana) is indicated as the cause for receiving a boon.
