Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 21

सर्पव्यालहतानां च शृंगैरुद्बन्धनैरपि । एकोद्दिष्टं प्रकर्तव्यं चतुर्दश्यां नराधिप

sarpavyālahatānāṃ ca śṛṃgairudbandhanairapi | ekoddiṣṭaṃ prakartavyaṃ caturdaśyāṃ narādhipa

Bagi mereka yang mati dipatuk ular atau dibunuh binatang buas, dan juga yang mati kerana ditanduk tanduk atau kerana digantung, hendaklah dilakukan ekoddiṣṭa-śrāddha pada hari Caturdaśī (hari keempat belas bulan), wahai Raja.
