श्रीभगवानुवाच । एष गौर्या पुरा कृत्वा निजांगोद्वर्तनं कृतः । निर्मलेन कृतः पश्चान्नराकारश्चतुर्भुजः
śrībhagavānuvāca | eṣa gauryā purā kṛtvā nijāṃgodvartanaṃ kṛtaḥ | nirmalena kṛtaḥ paścānnarākāraścaturbhujaḥ
Baginda Tuhan berfirman: “Pada zaman dahulu, Dewi Gaurī, setelah membuat pes daripada luluran tubuhnya sendiri, membentuk dia. Kemudian, daripada bahan yang suci itu, terjadilah dia—berwujud manusia dan bertangan empat.”
