Type: kshetra
Scene: A group of beings, distressed by Indra’s anger, stand before a higher authority pleading for prasāda so they may become worthy recipients of śrāddha; the mood is penitential and formal.
Restoration of dharma comes through humility and seeking divine sanction; eligibility for sacred rites is not merely claimed but granted by rightful order.
The immediate verse is set in Brahmā’s presence; the surrounding narrative explicitly connects to Gayā as the śrāddha-tīrtha.
It emphasizes śrāddha-arhatā (ritual eligibility) and the necessity of divine/ritual authorization for receiving offerings.
