Type: kshetra
Listener: viprāḥ (brāhmaṇas)
Scene: A didactic tableau: anger personified as a red flame giving rise to a darker figure of hostility, which then draws people toward a shadow labeled pāpa-saṅga; the mediator intervenes by questioning repeatedly.
Unchecked anger escalates into hostility and sin; dharmic systems use careful mediation to prevent moral decline.
No single tīrtha is named; the verse supports the sanctity of tīrtha-assemblies by promoting non-conflict and righteous process.
A procedural safeguard: repeatedly questioning the mediator to ensure clarity and avert anger-driven outcomes.
