“Aku tidak sanggup melihatmu meminum ghee seakan-akan meminum api. Setelah engkau melepaskan nyawamu, aku juga akan, dengan kuasa kebenaran, melepaskan diriku.”
Mother (continuing)
Type: kund
Scene: Close, emotionally charged moment: the mother imagines the son consuming ghee like fire; her eyes brim with tears as she vows to relinquish life by truth’s power after him.
Satya (truth) is portrayed as a potent vow-force, but the verse also warns of the human cost of extreme penance.
The broader unit is the Nāgarakhaṇḍa’s Tīrthamāhātmya, with the narrative moving toward the sacred place called Vāstupada.
A severe, fire-linked expiation is implied through the imagery of consuming ghee like fire; it is narrated as a dramatic act, not as a general injunction.
