Narrative voice (contextual, unspecified in this verse)
Type: kshetra
Scene: A diverse group—elderly, children, travelers—approach the tīrtha; some bathe while others simply fold hands and behold the waters, receiving equal promised merit.
Tīrtha-merit is inclusive: bathing—and even mere darśana of the sacred place—bestows auspicious spiritual benefit as promised in the Māhātmya.
A tīrtha described in Nāgara Khaṇḍa, Tīrtha-māhātmya (Adhyāya 190); the verse emphasizes general tīrtha-snānaphala within this chapter’s site-context.
Snāna (ritual bathing) at the tīrtha, with an added teaching that darśana (seeing the tīrtha) also yields merit.
