समः शत्रौ च मित्रे च समलोष्टाश्मकांचनः । समो मानापमानेषु न प्रेतो जायते नरः
samaḥ śatrau ca mitre ca samaloṣṭāśmakāṃcanaḥ | samo mānāpamāneṣu na preto jāyate naraḥ
Sesiapa yang seimbang hati terhadap musuh dan sahabat, yang memandang tanah, batu dan emas sebagai sama, serta tetap sama dalam pujian dan celaan—orang itu tidak lahir sebagai preta.
