Skanda Purana — Nagara Khanda, Shloka 34

अश्वो वोढेति यत्सूक्तं चतुःषष्टिसमुद्भवम् । छंदऋषिदेवतायुक्तं जपं चक्रे ततः परम्

aśvo voḍheti yatsūktaṃ catuḥṣaṣṭisamudbhavam | chaṃdaṛṣidevatāyuktaṃ japaṃ cakre tataḥ param

Kemudian beliau melakukan japa bagi kidung suci yang bermula “aśvo voḍhā…”, yang terbit daripada rangkaian enam puluh empat, lengkap dengan chandas (metrum), ṛṣi, dan devatā pelindungnya.
