Type: kshetra
Listener: Addressed to an audience of pilgrims/seekers; immediate vocative not in this verse
Scene: A pilgrim stands before a radiant Sūrya icon beneath/near a venerable banyan (vaṭa), at dawn on Caitra-ṣaṣṭhī; rays spread as if many solar forms are present within one halo.
Sacred time and sacred place combine: darśana at the right tithi reveals the deity’s fullness and grants heightened merit.
Vaṭāditya is glorified as a site where the Sun’s complete presence is accessible through darśana.
Darśana of Vaṭāditya, especially on Caitra-śukla/kr̥ṣṇa Ṣaṣṭhī (the sixth lunar day in Caitra).
