अथ यावत्प्रभातेऽहं प्रपश्यामि निजां तनुम् । तावत्कुष्ठादिरोगैश्च समंतात्परिवारिताम्

atha yāvatprabhāte'haṃ prapaśyāmi nijāṃ tanum | tāvatkuṣṭhādirogaiśca samaṃtātparivāritām

Kemudian, ketika fajar menyingsing, sebaik sahaja aku memandang tubuhku sendiri, aku mendapati ia dikepung dari segenap sisi oleh pelbagai penyakit—bermula dengan kusta.
