यया विनिहतो रौद्रो महिषाख्यो महासुरः । कौमारव्रतधारिण्या तस्मिन्विन्ध्ये महाचले

yayā vinihato raudro mahiṣākhyo mahāsuraḥ | kaumāravratadhāriṇyā tasminvindhye mahācale

Dialah Dewi itu—yang memegang vrata gadis suci—yang menewaskan asura agung yang garang bernama Mahiṣa di gunung Vindhya yang perkasa; Dewi yang sama itulah yang mereka sembah dengan bakti.
