na vṛthā darśanaṃ me syādapi svapre dvijottamāḥ | tasmātsamprārthyatāṃ kiṃcidabhīṣṭaṃ hṛdi saṃsthitam
Vahni (Agni, Fire)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Brāhmaṇas (dwijottamāḥ)
Scene: Agni, radiant yet gentle, invites the brāhmaṇas to ask a boon; a subtle overlay suggests dreamlike atmosphere—soft edges, luminous haze—implying that even dream-appearance is potent.
Darśana (divine encounter) is meant to yield dharmic benefit; one should ask for what supports purity and righteous living.
The tīrtha setting of Nāgarakhaṇḍa, Adhyāya 113, where Agni’s darśana becomes the basis for establishing a sacred practice.
A boon-request is invited; the next verses specify what the brāhmaṇas ask to be established at the tīrtha.
