Type: kshetra
Scene: Citraśarmā speaks assertively, pointing to others’ near-death resolve and claiming Śiva was pleased by ‘great tapas’; the scene juxtaposes ascetic intensity with argumentative tone.
Austerity can move the divine, but the Purāṇas repeatedly stress that boons must align with virtue and the welfare of the kṣetra.
The local Nāgarakhaṇḍa kṣetra remains the setting; the story explains how divine attention is drawn there through tapas and crisis.
Tapas (austerity) is referenced as the force that pleases the deity, though no specific vrata is detailed in this verse.
