पपात भूतले कायं काष्ठलोष्टोपमं द्रुतम् । लक्ष्मणस्य गतश्रीकं सरय्वाः पुलिने शुभे

papāta bhūtale kāyaṃ kāṣṭhaloṣṭopamaṃ drutam | lakṣmaṇasya gataśrīkaṃ sarayvāḥ puline śubhe

Dengan segera, jasad Lakṣmaṇa—yang telah hilang seri cahayanya—jatuh ke bumi bagaikan sebatang kayu atau segumpal tanah, di tebing pasir yang suci lagi bertuah di Sungai Sarayū.
