उपर्युपरि देवानामन्योन्यातिशये स्थितम् । नरैः पुण्यफलं स्वर्गे मूलच्छेदेन भुज्यते

uparyupari devānāmanyonyātiśaye sthitam | naraiḥ puṇyaphalaṃ svarge mūlacchedena bhujyate

Semakin tinggi di kalangan para dewa, masing-masing berada dalam kelebihan atas yang lain. Di syurga, manusia menikmati buah pahala, namun menikmatinya dengan memutus akar—yakni menghabiskan simpanan kebajikan.
