सुहृद्वत्प्रतिबोध्यैनं प्रवर्तयति तत्त्वतः । काव्यालापादिकं यच्च कांतासंमतमुच्यते
suhṛdvatpratibodhyainaṃ pravartayati tattvataḥ | kāvyālāpādikaṃ yacca kāṃtāsaṃmatamucyate
Hendaklah dia dinasihati seperti sahabat sejati (su-hṛt) dan digerakkan menuju hakikat kebenaran. Dan apa jua yang berupa bicara puitis, perbualan dan seumpamanya—apabila diperkenankan oleh yang dikasihi (kāntā), yakni yang mulia dan berwawasan—disebut sebagai ucapan yang diterima.
