iti japaḥ gomedanāmā plakṣosti suramyo yasya cchāyayā | modovṛddhiṃ gataṃ laulyādgomedaṃ dvīpamucyate
“Demikianlah japa (zikir/mantra).”
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) to the sages
Tirtha: Gomeda-dvīpa
Type: kshetra
Scene: A vast, otherworldly island with a single magnificent plakṣa tree named Gomeda; its canopy casts a cool, luminous shade under which beings experience a visible increase of joy, shown as blossoming lotuses and softened faces.
Sacred geography is not merely physical—its features (like the plakṣa’s shade) are portrayed as dharmic sources of uplift and joy.
Gomeda-dvīpa is described; it is a cosmological island rather than a commonly identified earthly tīrtha.
The text marks a mantra section with "iti japaḥ"—indicating a recitation to be performed.
