उवाच सा पिता दाता तं प्रार्थय सुदुर्मते । पितृप्रदेया यत्कन्या श्रुतिरेषा सनातनी
uvāca sā pitā dātā taṃ prārthaya sudurmate | pitṛpradeyā yatkanyā śrutireṣā sanātanī
Dia berkata: “Bapa itulah pemberi—wahai yang kurang bijaksana, pergilah memohon kepada ayahmu. Anak dara hendaklah dikurniakan oleh bapa; inilah ketetapan Śruti yang abadi.”
