Skanda bersabda: Wahai muni, ketika para gaṇa pengiring (Śiva) ini demikian menetap di Vārāṇasī, mereka mendirikan liṅga-liṅga dengan nama mereka sendiri demi kepuasan sempurna Viśveśa.
Skanda
Tirtha: Gaṇa-nāma-liṅgas of Kāśī (collective)
Type: kshetra
Listener: Muni (addressed as ‘mune’)
Scene: Skanda narrates as gaṇas arrive in Kāśī and consecrate multiple liṅgas, each inscribed with the gaṇa’s name; Viśveśa’s presence is felt as a radiant central axis, while smaller sanctums bloom around it.
Sacred installations in Kāśī are not merely objects; they are acts of devotion aimed at pleasing Viśveśa, the presiding Śiva of the city.
Vārāṇasī (Kāśī), presented as the abode where Śiva’s gaṇas dwell and establish named liṅgas.
The establishment (sthāpana) of liṅgas—consecrated in devotion to Viśveśa.
