ekadā tadguruḥ prāha prāvṛṭkāle samāgate | kurūṭajaṃ madarthaṃ tvaṃ yathā prāvṛṇna bādhate
Pada suatu ketika, tatkala musim hujan tiba, sang guru berkata: “Demi aku, dirikanlah sebuah pondok (kurūṭaja) sedemikian rupa agar hujan tidak mengganggu (kita).”
Śiva (Devadeva) (continuing narration)
Listener: Pārvatī
Scene: In the onset of monsoon clouds, the guru instructs the young Viśvakarman to build a rainproof hut; the scene shows dark clouds, wind, and the hermitage preparing for rains, with tools and thatching materials ready.
Skill is sanctified through service: craftsmanship is framed as an offering to the guru and a practice of dharma.
None directly; it is part of the origin narrative leading toward the Viśvakarmeśvara liṅga’s māhātmya in Kāśī.
No formal rite; a practical dharmic duty is prescribed—constructing a shelter as guru-sevā.
