संसारसागरे मग्नं मामुद्धर महेश्वर । इति स्तुत्वा महेशानं जैगीषव्यो महामुनिः
saṃsārasāgare magnaṃ māmuddhara maheśvara | iti stutvā maheśānaṃ jaigīṣavyo mahāmuniḥ
“Wahai Maheśvara, aku tenggelam dalam lautan saṁsāra; angkatlah aku!” Setelah memuji Maheśāna demikian, mahāmuni Jaigīṣavya pun meneruskan kata-kata/perbuatannya.
Narrator (contextual; Kāśīkhaṇḍa narration) reporting Jaigīṣavya’s prayer to Śiva
Tirtha: Kāśī (Avimukta)
Type: kshetra
Scene: Jaigīṣavya, austere and radiant, stands near a liṅga or before Śiva, hands raised in supplication, with the metaphorical ocean of saṃsāra suggested as swirling waters behind him, contrasted by Śiva’s calm presence.
Liberation is sought through heartfelt surrender to Śiva, who ferries devotees across saṃsāra.
Kāśī is the scriptural setting; the Kāśīkhaṇḍa consistently presents Kāśī as a liberating sacred geography under Śiva’s lordship.
None directly; the act highlighted is stuti (hymnic praise) as a devotional practice.
