Skanda Purana — Kashi Khanda, Shloka 62

मधुस्रवेति प्रथममेषा पुष्करिणी स्मृता । कृतकृत्या ततो ज्ञेया ततोऽसौ क्षीरनीरधिः

madhusraveti prathamameṣā puṣkariṇī smṛtā | kṛtakṛtyā tato jñeyā tato'sau kṣīranīradhiḥ

Kolam suci ini mula-mula dikenang sebagai ‘Madhusravā’ (yang mengalirkan madu). Seterusnya hendaklah diketahui sebagai ‘Kṛtakṛtyā’ (yang menyempurnakan segala hajat). Kemudian ia disebut ‘Kṣīra-nīrādhi’—takungan laksana samudera dengan air seumpama susu.
