Skanda Purana — Kashi Khanda, Shloka 32

यावद्वेदमधीते च चरन्वेदव्रतानि च । ब्रह्मचारी भवेत्तावदूर्ध्वं स्नातो गृही भवेत्

yāvadvedamadhīte ca caranvedavratāni ca | brahmacārī bhavettāvadūrdhvaṃ snāto gṛhī bhavet

Selama dia mempelajari Weda dan mengamalkan disiplin Weda, selama itu hendaklah dia menjadi brahmacārī. Sesudahnya, setelah menamatkan kehidupan pelajar dan melakukan mandi penutup (snāna), hendaklah dia memasuki āśrama gṛhastha (berumah tangga).
