न खल्वयमृतोंऽडस्थ इति स्नेहादभाषत । तदा प्रभृति लोकेयं मार्तंड इति चोच्यते
na khalvayamṛtoṃ'ḍastha iti snehādabhāṣata | tadā prabhṛti lokeyaṃ mārtaṃḍa iti cocyate
Kerana kasih sayang, dia berkata, “Sesungguhnya dia tidak mati di dalam telur.” Sejak saat itu, di dunia ini dia dikenali dengan nama Mārtaṇḍa.
