महिष्या सह संप्राप्ते भूपाले कीर्तिशेषताम् । भेजे राज्यं शतानीकतनयो मंत्रिणां गिरा
mahiṣyā saha saṃprāpte bhūpāle kīrtiśeṣatām | bheje rājyaṃ śatānīkatanayo maṃtriṇāṃ girā
Apabila raja bersama permaisuri utamanya telah berpulang sehingga tinggal hanya kemasyhuran, putera Śatānīka pun mengambil alih kerajaan menurut nasihat para menteri.
Sūta (Lomaharṣaṇa) (deduced for Brahmakhaṇḍa narration)
Scene: With the king and chief queen gone, ministers counsel the heir; Śatānīka’s son is enthroned, the court regains composure, and the departed king is remembered through fame.
Dharma in society continues through orderly succession guided by wise counsel; fame (kīrti) is what remains of worldly life.
None directly; this verse emphasizes royal continuity and dharma rather than tīrtha-mahātmya.
No ritual is prescribed; it records the political-dharmic transition of power.
