Unspecified teacher addressing a Vānara (kapisattama)
Tirtha: Setu
Type: kshetra
Listener: kapi (vānara)
Scene: A vānara warrior listens as the teacher depicts humans chained by red (rāga) and black (dveṣa) cords; a sick figure in the background symbolizes roga from delusion.
Delusion fueled by attachment and aversion generates suffering; dharma must be purified from compulsive impulses.
Setukhaṇḍa provides the Setu pilgrimage frame; the verse highlights inner purification as the true companion of tīrtha-visit.
No ritual; it warns against rāga-dveṣa and encourages freedom from delusion.
