तथैवैकदिनं युद्ध्वा शल्ये च निधनं गते । अष्टादशदिने तत्र रणे दुर्योधने द्विजाः

tathaivaikadinaṃ yuddhvā śalye ca nidhanaṃ gate | aṣṭādaśadine tatra raṇe duryodhane dvijāḥ

Demikian juga setelah bertempur hanya sehari, tatkala Śalya pun menemui ajal—wahai para brāhmaṇa, pada hari kelapan belas di medan itu, ketika Duryodhana jatuh dalam pertempuran—
