Type: tirtha
Listener: Ṛṣis (sages)
Scene: At a sea-edge tīrtha near Setu, Yudhiṣṭhira performs snāna, then approaches a Śiva-liṅga shrine; the heaviness of guilt lifts instantly as light and calm surround him.
Bathing at a sanctified tīrtha and receiving Śiva’s darśana functions as powerful prāyaścitta, dissolving even the moral fault of untruth.
The Setukhaṇḍa context points to Rāmatīrtha (a Setu-region tīrtha) where snāna and Śiva-darśana are praised.
Snāna (sacred bathing) followed by Śiva-darśana (beholding/worship of Śiva).
