jajñire bahavaḥ putrāḥ śataśo'tha sahasraśaḥ | caturviśatimukhyānāṃ nāmāni pravadāmi te | dvijānāmṛṣayaḥ proktāḥ pravarāṇi tathā śṛṇu
Ramai putera telah lahir—beratus-ratus bahkan beribu-ribu. Aku akan menyebut kepadamu nama dua puluh empat gotra yang utama; dan dengarlah juga para ṛṣi yang diisytiharkan serta pravara bagi kaum dvija.
