Skanda Purana — Brahma Khanda, Shloka 38

तृणैराच्छाद्य वसुधां शिरः प्रावृत्य वाससा । कर्णोपवीत उदग्वक्त्रो दिवसे संध्ययोरपि

tṛṇairācchādya vasudhāṃ śiraḥ prāvṛtya vāsasā | karṇopavīta udagvaktro divase saṃdhyayorapi

Dengan menutup tanah dengan rumput dan menutup kepala dengan kain, serta meletakkan upavīta (benang suci) pada telinga, hendaklah menghadap ke utara pada waktu siang, dan juga pada saat pertemuan senja.
