दाराग्निहोत्रसंयोगं कुरुते योऽग्रजे स्थिते । परिवेत्ता स विज्ञेयः परिवित्तिस्तु पूर्वजः

dārāgnihotrasaṃyogaṃ kurute yo'graje sthite | parivettā sa vijñeyaḥ parivittistu pūrvajaḥ

Sesiapa yang memasuki perkahwinan dan memikul kewajipan api rumah tangga (agnihotra) ketika abang sulungnya masih belum berkahwin, dia dikenali sebagai parivettā; manakala abang sulung yang tertinggal itu disebut parivitti.
