Type: kshetra
Listener: Vyāsa (addressed as dvijasattama)
Scene: A royal listener (Yudhiṣṭhira) seated respectfully before the sage Vyāsa, hands folded, asking for the next episode; a calm āśrama setting with manuscripts and sacrificial implements.
Sincere śravaṇa of dharma-kathā is itself nectar—devotion deepens the more one listens, without satiation.
Dharmāraṇya (the sacred forest) is the narrative setting being introduced and will be praised through the ensuing episode.
No explicit rite is prescribed here; the implied practice is śravaṇa—reverent listening to Purāṇic teaching.
