Type: kshetra
Listener: Yudhiṣṭhira (addressed as mahīpāla)
Scene: Mārkaṇḍeya instructs a king to journey onward; a distant elevated tīrtha associated with Vyāsa appears on a cliff/peak or as a floating sanctum above mist; pilgrims look upward in wonder.
Some tīrthas are portrayed as spiritually exalted and difficult to attain; aspiration and effort toward them is itself part of dharma.
Vyāsa-tīrtha, described as an unsurpassed and rare sacred place, seemingly located in the antarikṣa (mid-region).
A directive to proceed on pilgrimage to Vyāsa-tīrtha.
