अतीतं वर्तमानं च स्मरामि च सृजाम्यहम् । तैर्विना चाहमेकस्तु मूकोऽधो जडवत्सदा

atītaṃ vartamānaṃ ca smarāmi ca sṛjāmyaham | tairvinā cāhamekastu mūko'dho jaḍavatsadā

Aku mengingati yang lampau dan yang kini, dan aku juga menzahirkan penciptaan. Namun tanpa itu (Weda), aku seorang menjadi sentiasa bisu, merendah dan kaku—seperti yang tidak berakal.
