ईश्वर उवाच । यदि दास्ये वरं देवि इच्छाभूतं कदाचन । ततो न मंस्यते विष्णुं न ब्रह्माणं न मामपि
īśvara uvāca | yadi dāsye varaṃ devi icchābhūtaṃ kadācana | tato na maṃsyate viṣṇuṃ na brahmāṇaṃ na māmapi
Īśvara bersabda: “Wahai Dewi, jika aku pernah mengurniakan anugerah semata-mata menurut kehendaknya, maka selepas itu dia tidak akan menghormati Viṣṇu, tidak juga Brahmā, bahkan aku sendiri pun tidak.”
