Skanda Purana — Avanti Khanda, Shloka 22

निरीक्ष्य सुचिरं कालं कोपसंरक्तलोचनः । ध्यात्वा तं परमं मन्त्रमात्मानं च निरुध्य सः

nirīkṣya suciraṃ kālaṃ kopasaṃraktalocanaḥ | dhyātvā taṃ paramaṃ mantramātmānaṃ ca nirudhya saḥ

Setelah lama memerhati, matanya memerah kerana murka. Dengan merenung mantra yang tertinggi itu serta menahan diri, (Śiva) menghimpunkan dirinya dalam kawalan yang terpusat.
