Skanda Purana — Avanti Khanda, Shloka 2

उपवासपरो भूत्वा नियतेन्द्रियमानसः । तत्र स्नात्वा विधानेन मुच्यते ब्रह्महत्यया

upavāsaparo bhūtvā niyatendriyamānasaḥ | tatra snātvā vidhānena mucyate brahmahatyayā

Dengan tekun berpuasa, menahan pancaindera serta minda, lalu mandi di sana menurut tatacara yang benar—seseorang terlepas bahkan daripada dosa brahmahatyā (membunuh brāhmaṇa).
